When I run the installer
I receive the following message: “Microsoft SQLCE 2.0 is already installed. Do you
want to proceed with the re-install/upgrade?” What should I do?
The PILOT QUEST installer by default deploys
SQLCE 2.0 on the device. If the SQLCE 2.0 does not exist then it must be installed
because the application cannot run without it. It seems that your device has SQL
2.0 installed already. You can choose to either re-install/upgrade or continue with
the existing version. We recommend that you keep the existing version.

When I run the installer
I get the following message: “Install “ASITCON CORP PilotQuest Test” and other pending
installations using the default application install directory?” What are the other
pending installations and what is the default directory?
The installer is composed of 2 parts: The
SQLCE 2.0 package and the PILOT QUEST application which is the host of the tests.
If the PILOT QUEST engine is already installed on the device and its version is
not older than the engine in the installer then the installer will skip its installation.
In all the other cases the engine will be deployed and installed on the device and
you will receive the message above. The default directory where the installer copies
all the required information is “/Program Files/PilotQuest” unless you specify another
location.
|
|
What (platform or
software) does PILOT QUEST need to operate?
.NET Compact Framework 1.0 Service Pack 2
or later and SQL CE 2.0. Pilot Quest is Pocket PC 2003 and Windows Mobile 5.0 compatible.
|
|
Does Pilot Quest
run with .NET Compact Framework 2.0?
Yes. If .NET Compact Framework 2.0 is installed
on the device it will be used as default framework so that the user can enjoy all
the advantages of the new technology.
|
|
How do I start PILOT
QUEST?
You have two options: 1. Start -> Programs
-> Pilot Quest 2. By clicking PilotQuest in the installation folder.
|
|
When I start Pilot
Quest I get the following error: “An unexpected error has occurred in PilotQuest.exe.
Select Quit and then restart this program, or select Details for more information.
”. Why?
It’s very likely that this error is caused
by a missing SQLCE 2.0 Server on the device. You can try to reinstall the test.
The SQL CE will be installed by default. If the problem persists please contact
us at: support@asitcon.com.
|
|
PILOT QUEST does
not start. Why?
Please reset the device and then try again.
If the problem persists please contact us at: support@asitcon.com.

|
Does Pilot Quest
run if the device has SQL Server Mobile 2005 installed?
The installation of SQL Server Mobile 2005
does not harm the application. Pilot Quest uses SQLCE 2.0 which must be installed
also on the handheld device; otherwise the application will not start.

I have a Windows
Mobile 5.0 device. In the setup process I get the following message on the device
“The program is from an unknown publisher. You should install it only if you trust
its publisher. Do you want to continue? …”. What should I do?
At the first installation of Pilot Quest
1.0 on the WM5 device the message will appear each time a cab is installed on the
device. PQ is installing two cabs. Each time you must click “Yes”. At the next installation
of a test the message will not bother you again. Attention! You must accept the
two cabs in the order that they appear. If you do not accept them the application
will miss some components and probably will not work.
